Taking the Approach That Is Best for the Client
An attorney with an aggressive personality is not necessarily a good advocate. While I am certainly vigorous in protecting my clients' rights, often the best way to accomplish the clients' objectives is through civilized negotiation with the other side, defining areas of agreement and areas of conflict, and seeking creative, mutually acceptable solutions which maximize the clients' position.
Much of California law that is relevant to my practice is oriented toward encouraging the parties to come to an agreement. Too often when a divorce case goes before a judge, the family home or business may have to be sold. Such a disruptive result can often be avoided through negotiation or creative lawyering.
